Yadavindra Singh, the Maharaja of Patiala, a distinguished client of the house in the 1930s and renowned for his exuberant style, was a key source of inspiration for this haute cr�ation collection. It was the Maharaja'-s special request to change the history of St. Dupont and introduce it to the world of fire and lighters. Indeed, in 1941, &quot-the Magnificent,&quot- as he was nicknamed, wanted to equip his minaudi�res with pocket lighters. The fact that this had never been done before prompted Lucien and Andr� Tissot Dupont to create the first gasoline lighter, thus bringing the house of St. Dupont into a new world of excellence. This historic collaboration opened new creative avenues for the manufacture and consolidated its association with luxury and timeless elegance. The Maharaja &amp- Maharani haute-cr�ation collection is inspired by these legendary minaudi�res and the sovereign'-s exquisite jewels.
