In 1923 one of the first Italian factories of colors and varnishes for Fine Arts saw the light: Fratelli Maimeri. Its foundation came from the meeting of the artistic and technical interests of the painter Gianni Maimeri (1884 – 1951) and the chemical knowledge of his brother Carlo (1886 – 1957). The project for a paint factory and the first agreements took place at the same time as the choice of the site and the first experimental productions, which took place in the historic former Mulino Blondel factory, in Barona, on the outskirts of Milan. Subsequently, on January 27, 1925, F.lli Maimeri S.A. was established. together with Giovanni Ticozzi and Baron Silvio in Prato.
