tip in ethergraf alloy, length 15.5 cm, diameter 6 mm, weight 57 gr, body in pear wood, complete with stainless steel base, cardboard box. designed by studio substance. in the early sixteenth century Leonardo devoted attention to the study of flight and the design of a flying machine. he thought of producing a treatise on flight divided into four chapters, which was never completed but, in the first months of 1505, he wrote part of the codex on the flight of birds, preserved in the royal library of turin, in which he proposed to understand the secret of flight. the reflection on these texts left by leonardo led to the creation of feather, a writing instrument made entirely of wood, with a dynamic shape, which refers to the quill and studies on flight. feather rests in constant balance on its center of gravity thanks to the mirrored steel pedestal through which the specular signature of the master is reflected.
